PRI WINS EXCELLENCE IN LEARNING AWARD

(Manhasset, N.Y. – Dec, 7, 2005) – Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers (PRI) has won a Silver Award for Excellence in Learning from Brandon Hall, one of the nation’s most prestigious research and consulting firms in training and development. Brandon Hall’s Excellence in Learning Awards program showcases exceptional work in innovative learning across the country. Manhasset, L.I. based PRI, a leading underwriter of professional liability insurance for the medical profession, joined other silver medalists Microsoft, British Airways and Mazda.

PRI was recognized during an Awards ceremony and reception held recently in Long Beach, California. A total of 210 entries, representing 16 countries, were evaluated by 479 independent judges, with expertise in instructional design and learning technology, from 47 countries around the world. PRI’s award is for an on-line course, entitled The Prevention & Management of Medical Errors: A Risk Management Approach. The course provides interactive learning for physicians on a subject which is being widely discussed in health care. To date, more than 4,000 physicians have taken PRI’s Internet course and another 4,000 have attended the same course in a live workshop format.
