PRI
INSURES 13,000TH DOCTOR
Company reaches a landmark 100 Hospitals and Medical Institutions
in New York
(Manhasset, N.Y.
March 6, 2007)—Physicians Reciprocal Insurers’
(PRI) has announced that it will enroll its 13,000th doctor
this year, as well as its 100th hospital/medical institution,
as the company celebrates its 25th anniversary. According
to Anthony J. Bonomo, J.D., who is President and CEO of the
company, the accomplishments signify the steady, careful growth
of PRI: “PRI continues to grow steadily, balancing prudent
underwriting with consistent sales and marketing to New York
doctors. We now insure about 40% of the New York market for
doctors. Our healthcare facilities and hospital programs have
now reached more than 100 institutions insured through PRI”,
he stated.
According to Herman
Robbins, M.D., Chairman of PRI, “In New York today,
competition is focused upon price, defense capability, and,
most of all, service. PRI has earned the loyalty of its doctors
and enjoys a very low turn over rate as we grow gradually
toward our targeted growth goals”, he stated, adding,
“With respect to healthcare facilities, our approach
and our programs are gaining adoption steadily”, Robbins
added. “The fact that PRI is doctor-owned and doctor-operated
gives us a credibility advantage in the profession as we demonstrate
“best practices” as an insurer”, he stated.
Mr. Bonomo underlined
the Company’s value-added risk management programs as
a market and price stabilizer: “We offer award-winning
risk management education programs that give doctors and institutions
greater control over their costs, together with operational
information that affects practice management favorably”,
he said. “We can continue to grow in each area carefully,
yet confidently, as a result of our risk management approach”,
he concluded.
