Podiatrist
Services
New York Only
Established
over a decade ago, Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers (PRI) has
earned a reputation in the medical field for providing excellent
malpractice coverage and risk management services at the highest
professional standards to all its policyholders at the lowest
possible price.
PRI
believes that selective underwriting using strict underwriting
standards, early and close investigation of claims, and
aggressive risk management/podiatrist education, are the
keys to controlling costs.
By
Professionals, For Professionals
The
PRI Podiatry program is an alternative to simply purchasing
coverage from a commercial insurer. This program involves
professionals insuring professionals, providing the most
reliable protection available.

Over
a Decade of Malpractice Experience
At
PRI, New York podiatrists' loss experience stands on its
own and is independent from other risks. By joining PRI's
program you will be getting the security of a New York State
Licensed insurer, along with the extensive experience in
New York claims handling and risk management that only PRI
can offer.
TOP
Occurrence Pioneer
One
way PRI is meeting the needs of podiatrists is by being
the largest major New York State malpractice insurance carrier
to offer Occurrence Coverage policies to podiatrists.
We believe
it is this kind of service, and attention to detail, that
have made PRI one of the largest malpractice carriers in
the nation.

Switch to PRI With No Penalty
If
you're currently insured with another carrier on a claims-made
basis, you can switch to PRI with no penalty or payment.
"Nose Coverage" will be provided at no additional
cost, and will cover all past experience, dating back to
the claims-made inception date of your previous policy,
keeping you fully protected.
When
you retire (under specific circumstances), PRI also provides
a "Tail Coverage" policy at no additional cost.
And for new podiatrists, PRI offers the best liability coverage
at a savings of up to 50%.

Peer
Control
In
the past with other companies, podiatrists' control and
participation were limited. With the PRI podiatry program,
there are significant differences.
A Podiatrists'
Claim Review Committee will review all claims made against
those podiatrists who are unfortunately sued. These Committees
will monitor company claims-handling efforts and all payments
made on behalf of PRI insureds.
The
Commmittee will work with insurance professionals to review
all applications that exceed reasonable underwriting standards,
and review the standards of practice of those who may represent
a disproportionate risk to fellow insureds. It is important
to note that no podiatrist will be surcharged or non-renewed
without the benefit of true peer review.

Excellence
in Risk Management
Our
program is aimed at preventing malpractice suits before they
happen. We have gathered, from podiatrists' past claims experience,
numerous identifiable risk factors. This data forms the basis
of our effort to teach our podiatrists how to reduce their
chances of being sued. Our multi-faceted approach, developed
by health care professionals, will show you specific ways
to lower your malpractice risk.
Our comprehensive services include:

premium discounts. The course includes actual closed
cases which help to identify correctable issues and
avoid claims.

An
active information network maintained through practice
surveys and bulletins to keep policyholders a step
